My uncle was flight engineer on Concorde for BA. I grew up about 25 miles from Heathrow in the mid 1980's, so I used to hear and see her leaving and coming back in daily as we lived under the flight path. You could almost set your watch by her. Beautiful aircraft and an incredible sound!! I miss it

1979 Memorial Day Airshow at Myrtle Beach AFB, my only time to see it up close... but not too close as it weeped and leaked fuel all over the apron on a corner away from the flightline. The Thunderbirds were there that day too, but were 2nd fiddle to the mighty SR-71! Loudest plane I ever heard especially when the afterburners were lit once it was out over the beach and in a flash, gone!

Always weird to me to see a bird designed to fly at multi-Mach on the edge of space just footling around near the ground. Kinda not right like seeing a swift in a budgie cage.

The Blackbird was so fast, in todays world people want the speed of sound, the sonic boom, I hope it comes back for an air show, the plane would send chills on a persons body, no amount of money could fix it.

Thank you, it brings back memories, my father worked on this plane, I saw it when I was 9 or 10 years old, mid- late 80's Cal. It was cool to see, will never forget it.
